Thanks to Terrible One for sending me these pics. Heres the story on his 68 Charger. "In 1999, the guy that I bought this car from was driving back to his home in Harrisonville, Missouri when he spotted this Charger sitting in the front of a yard. He turned around to ask about the car, which he noticed had taken a real hard hit to the front and had a small tree growing up through the engine bay. He knocked on the front door of the house, and an older man came to the door to ask what he wanted. The guy I bought the car from told him that he was interested in the Charger outside and asked about buying it. The old man told him that it belonged to his son, who bought the car in 1989 and after rear-ending another vehicle had parked the car where it now sat, pulled the motor and transmission, and left it. Anyways, the man told the guy who sold me the car that he could have it for $500, and he gave him cash on the spot. Coming back with a chainsaw and a trailor the next day, the car was loaded up and taken to the guy's house. He then decided to take it to a restoration shop called "Birds, Bees, and R/T's". They said that the passenger fender and the hood were unsaveable, but fixed the driver's fender using almost no filler at all. The torsion bars were pulled and refnished, and the front brakes, bushings, shocks, etc. were all replaced. The engine bay, hood, front fenders, and K-frame were stripped down, prepped, and sprayed with primer. The grill was wasted besides the vacuum pods and another complete grill assembly was purchased from a guy in Northern Arkansas. Finally, a reproduction front valence was purchased. It was at about this time that the guy I bought the car from decided to stop dumping funds into this project, paid for the work done, and took it home. In February of 2006, I purchased the car off of Ebay. Other than what's been stating above, I don't know much about the history of this car from early on. There is an old sticker on the rear bumper that says "Texas Chiropractic College 1982-1983" which I think is a parking permit. The title I have is a transfer from Flippin, Arkansas, and I bought the car out of Harrisonville, Missouri. So it seems that the car has been around or between Northern Arkansas, Southern Missouri, and Texas all it's life. The only thing that throws this off is that when I pulled the gas tank, it had a shipping stciker still on it that was addressed to Compton Motors in Egg Harbor, New Jersey! Therefore, I'm guessing that the car was there at some point in it's life, where it had it's tank replaced at said dealership."
Looking back on my old website, I found these pics. A person named Lonnie sent me these pics. Heres what was said "This Charger has a very, very rare colour combo. It came orignal black with blue interior. If you havent noticed, the car still is black with blue interior. Orignal paint? I dont really know. But heres the story of this find. The car was in the junkyard due to a rear-end collision. It was saved from crusher, but years ago a bulldozer with the pipeline company shoved this Charger over a mound of dirt (ruined the doors and fenders) and over a pile of rear ends. The trunk floor rusted through, then top of gas tank rusted through, parts were laying inside of the tank."
